It was a glorious European night for Liverpool, just like the one they had 11 years ago in Istanbul, as they came from behind to beat Dortmund 4-3 and qualify for the Europa League semi-finals.
The second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals between Liverpool and Dortmund is a genuine contender for match of the season. Having been two down at the end of the first half, the Reds rallied to score four times in the second half, even as BVB pegged one back.
The scenes inside Anfield were extraordinary, but the players soon became spectators themselves as the team bus drove past an atmosphere of passion, joy and excitement outside Anfield.
