Borussia Dortmund showed their superiority against Premier League opponents Tottenham Hotspur at the Signal Iduna Park on Thursday.

Spurs suffered a 3-0 mauling at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 clash, leaving their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals hanging by a thread.

A first-half header from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and a second-half brace by Marco Reus sealed their opponent’s fate as the two teams met each other in an official match for the first time in their history.

The final goal was a thing of beauty. Dortmund captain Mats Hummels started the move from his own half, which led to a series of beautiful passes, culminating in a cool finish from Reus for his second goal of the night.
