Real Madrid established a commanding lead in their round of 16 tie against Serie A side AS Roma with a 2-0 away victory at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The opening goal by Cristiano Ronaldo was a potent reminder of why he’s one of the greatest goalscorers in football history.
After receiving the ball from Marcelo, Ronaldo made a strong run down the left flank, beat the defender with an amazing backheel touch and then unleashed a curling missile that flew into the top corner past the bewildered Wojciech Szczęsny.
