Former Mohun Bagan star striker Cornell Glen has been signed by new club Ozone FC on Tuesday.

Glen, who played for Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan last season, helped the Green and Maroons give stiff competition to title rivals Bengaluru FC and East Bengal in the I-League, helping his side finish second in the process. The Trinidad & Tobago player had finished second in last season’s I-League top-scorer’s charts, scoring 11 goals from 16 appearances.

Ozone FC is owned by the Ozone Group, who are also the owners of ISL franchise Chennaiyin FC. The club have also won Bangalore District Football Association Super Division in their first season in the competition.

Tollygounge Agranami get their first win of the CFL season

Tollygounge Agranami registered their first win of the current Calcutta Football League season, after defeating George Telegraph by a 2-1 scoreline on Tuesday. The club from South Kolkata looked to get onto the attack early on, as they completely dominated the first half.

However, it took them 53 minutes to find the first goal of the game, when Alfred scored with a powerful shot. Tollygounge managed to double their lead nine minutes later through a Surabuddin goal. George Telegraph were not ready to give in so early though, and managed to halve the deficit, as Subha Kumar headed the ball spectacularly into the goal. Their late charge was not enough to salvage a draw, with Tollygounge holding on to their slender lead.

This win takes Tollygounge to the second spot on the CFL table, tied on four points with Peerless SC. Tollygounge and Peerless had played out a goalless draw against each other in their first game.

Chennaiyin sign Siam Hanghal

Chennaiyin FC have signed former Bengaluru FC midfielder Siam Hanghal ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL).

“Hanghal is a very talented midfielder and had a good season in the ISL last year including the game against us in Chennai. He is a good addition to our midfield,” manager Marco Materazzi was quoted as saying on Chennaiyin’s official website.

Hanghal has spent three seasons with I-League giants Bengaluru FC, winning two league titles and one Federation Cup during his stay at the club. The 23-year-old had also played in last season’s ISL, as he was loaned out to North East United FC. The Franchise confirmed that they have signed Hanghal on a one-year deal.
