Foot-Blog 2011 WINNERS

.

The THT Foot-blog initiative has drawn to a close. For us, at the TheHardTackle, the impressive response to this contest was humbling. It served to remind us of the responsibility that comes along with writing on, and reporting about, football in a country were good outlets catering exclusively to the beautiful game are hard to come by. The jury has had their hands full, judging the entries and trying to differentiate between, and rank, articles that were each exceptional in their own right.

We are extremely pleased to announce that 2 entrants to the competition have been identified to join TheHardTackle on probation, for at most a quarter. During this time, their performance as guest authors will be evaluated, and considered as grounds for elevating their involvement in TheHardTackle to the level of full-fledged resident writers. The first of them is Shivam Kumar, who dazzled the jury with his ability to meld extensive research into a coherent article and displayed incredible versatility taking on 3 different diverse topics ranging from Indian football to that of the Russians! The second is Vikram Krishnaveti, who proved just what a fascinating addition to TheHardTackle‘s crew he could prove to be. His article on Brazilian club football is a study in the art of writing about sports, and was matched by his take on the Azzurri’s journey across FIFA World Cups.

The winners’ entries will be published on the website in days to come.

At TheHardTackle, we’re always on the look out for talent. As part of the THT Footblog initiative we discovered two exciting writers, who we hope will serve TheHardTackle in their respective capacities for a very long time. You could be next. So keep writing, and watch this space!
