Brazilian midfielder Fernando is set to turn down a new contract at Porto in order to join Manchester City after his contract expires in the summer according to a report in The Guardian. City had failed in a A?12m attempt to sign the 26-year-old on deadline day of the recently closed January transfer window. Fernando is now unlikely to agree a contract extension at the Portuguese giants as he tries to ensure the move to City takes place after World Cup.
