We provide potentially marketable betting tips for Gameweek 23 of the Premier League featuring Liverpool vs Manchester City as the Match of the Day.

Manchester City and Manchester United sit atop the Premier League table, with the former having two games in hand. But, we kick Gameweek 23 off at Villa Park, with Arsenal paying them a visit. The Gunners will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Wolves, with just nine of their players left on the pitch by the end of the game.

Manchester United face Everton with the prospect of temporarily going level on points with City, especially with Everton struggling to deal with injuries to first-team stars. Jose Mourinho would want his Tottenham side to arrest the rut before it gets even worse as they host a lowly West Brom side that will have Sam Allardyce pulling the strings on the sidelines.

Burnley and Brighton are set to play a relegation six-pointer, even though both of them find themselves above the drop zone right now. Southampton will look to overcome their second 9-0 bashing in as many seasons as they travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle.

West Ham can potentially climb up into the top four with a win at Fulham on Saturday while Wolves will look to keep the momentum going as they welcome another bigwig in Leicester. The highlight of the Gameweek though, is the clash of the titans.

Two clubs who have been neck and neck, or 1/2 in the Premier League for the last couple of seasons, Liverpool are nowhere near the best but Manchester City are dangerously creeping closer to their optimum level. As they renew their newfound rivalry at Anfield once again, it will be Manchester City that will step onto the pitch with bragging rights.

Thomas Tuchel will hope for another unproblematic game in charge of Chelsea as they travel to face Sheffield United while Leeds United will host Crystal Palace in a proper mid-table tussle.

Aston Villa vs Arsenal

A game of fine margins is what caused Arsenal to lose against Wolves last gameweek. Aston Villa lost as well, albeit at home and to a team that is in fine form. One defeated by form and the other defeated by margins, Aston Villa and Arsenal are both in the same boat, much to the dismay of Arsenal fans.

In fact, Aston Villa have two games in hand over Arsenal and are a point above them in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta’s project has suffered more blows than needed and the foundation seems wobbly at best. The Gunners did also lose two players to suspension as a result of an early shower against Wolves.

It will be advantage Aston Villa going into the game on Saturday. However, this game has a draw or a single goal result written all over it.

Manchester United vs Everton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the Manchester United players firing on all cylinders and the fanbase on strings with each positive result. The 9-0 drubbing of Southampton was a stark reminder of the mentality that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to manifest once again at Manchester United.

Everton on the other hand, have been doing well under Carlo Ancelotti. While this still is a fair bit away from resembling a pure Ancelotti side, Everton are seventh on the table, with eight points separating them and Manchester United, albeit with the away side having two games in hand.

The Merseyside Blues will be jolted by the absence of Jordan Pickford, which could be a key factor in the outcome at Old Trafford. Given the form and the availability of key players, we are likely to see goals in this fixture.

Favourable Tips

1. Manchester United to WIN @ 1.55

Hot Ones

1. Over 2.5 Manchester United Team Goals @ 2.75

Tottenham vs West Brom

Tottenham just don’t seem to be doing anything right of late. This resembles the run of form that got Mauricio Pochettino sacked and while Jose Mourinho still might have a few losses to bare before he is facing the axe, it does look like something that is on the horizon rather than being an after-thought.

Clueless performances and poor results are what has led Tottenham to this point under Mourinho and the manager will be looking to fix it before it gets too late. The West Brom fixture comes in at the perfect time. Up against a team that is in the relegation zone and almost doomed to go down according to the current standings, Mourinho will expect his stars to turn up, even without the injured Harry Kane.

Favourable Tips

1. Tottenham to WIN @ 1.45

Hot Ones

1. Son Heung-Min to score first @ 4.50

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Liverpool may have sung songs of distress and hues of crisis at the back but it is their misfiring attack that is responsible for their defeat to Brighton. The terrific trio seem far from their usual best and Diogo Jota’s injury hasn’t helped Jurgen Klopp’s matters.

Manchester City seem to be shifting gears quicker and are the favourites, not just for the game on Sunday, but for the title once again. Pep Guardiola is churning some magic potion once again as Manchester City seem to be nearing their optimum level we expect of them.

While this will be an interesting fixture, there is no doubt City will have the edge.

Favourable Tips

1. Over 3.5 Cards @ 1.83

Hot Ones

1. Sadio Mane to score anytime @ 2.60

Sheffield United vs Chelsea

Three matches, three clean sheets; quite the welcome the players have given Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. The manager seems to be slowly bringing out the best in Kai Havertz and Timo Werner and the defence seems solid as ever.

Expect fireworks from the German duo against a Sheffield United side that is starting to wake up, perhaps a tad too late for their own comfort.

Favourable Tips

1. Chelsea to WIN @ 1.45

2. Chelsea Clean Sheet – YES @ 2.00

Hot Ones

1. Kai Havertz to score anytime @ 2.75
