We provide potentially marketable betting tips for Gameweek 19.1 of the Premier League featuring Liverpool vs Manchester United as the Match of the Day.

Gameweek 19 is the first double gameweek of the 2020/21 Premier League and there are some scintillating matchups lined up for the neutrals. The likes of West Brom, Burnley and Brighton, all of whom seem destined to be in the relegation kerfuffle, start the Gameweek off with their respective challenges as Wolves, West Ham and Leeds respectively lie in wait.

Southampton will have the prospect of going level with Leicester on points to look forward to on their trip to King Power Stadium on Saturday. Fulham have five draws in succession and will be looking for another point as they welcome Chelsea. Sheffield United finally lodged their first win of the season and Chris Wilder will hope his buoyant side can take advantage of Tottenham’s slump.

The big match of the first part of the Gameweek though stands the age-old rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United. The fact that it is once again a top-of-the-table clash, with Manchester United on top, adds that flavour making it reminiscent of the classics.

In true sense, Manchester City can go within a point of the top of the table with a game in hand, if they overcome Crystal Palace on Sunday. Arsenal are still outside the top half of the table but a win over Newcastle on Monday night might help their case.

Scott Parker has at least drilled the concept of not losing into his Fulham side, of late. However, the manager would have liked to have converted a couple or more of those five successive draws into wins at this stage. Chelsea have lost the early momentum gained in the 2020/21 Premier League and are now slipping away from the top four with each gameweek. Without a win in their last 3 games, Frank Lampard will be aware Fulham will not be pushovers on Saturday, making this London derby a bit more exciting.

Fulham’s recent compactness in their defence, when combined with Chelsea’s flailing offensive line, does not make for very good reading for the visitors. In fact, in Fulham’s last six Premier League games, no side has been able to score more than once, including Fulham themselves. While we could very well see a hungry Chelsea turn up, the statistical overview maps this as a draw on paper.

Favourable Tips

1. Under 2.5 Match Goals @ 2.00

Sheffield United vs Tottenham

Another struggling London giant, Tottenham are up against it on Sunday, facing a buoyant Sheffield United after Chris Wilder’s men nabbed their first win of the campaign. Tottenham though, are very much in the thick of things right now and Jose Mourinho will make his players aware of the importance of being able to get positive results against teams on the opposite end of the table.

Chris Wilder will look to make things difficult for Tottenham to get a clear shot on goal. However, Spurs are likely to have too much quality and the visitors’ determination to bounce back might act as the differentiation factor on Sunday.

Favourable Tips

1. Tottenham to win @ 1.60

Hot Ones

1. Tottenham to WIN to NIL @ 2.60

Liverpool vs Manchester United

A rivalry that has always been there but the added tinge of a title race has blossomed it into what it was ages ago. Liverpool welcome Manchester United at Anfield well aware of the current Premier League leaders’ ominous away form, having not lost an away league game this season. The Reds though, haven’t lost at home, which makes for even better reading going into the match.

A lot of storylines can emerge from the match. However, what will be important for the teams is the edge that they could gain over the other with a win on Sunday. Liverpool have more key players out injured and that will hand United a tiny edge. Tough to call this result as the two teams have often played out cagey matches in recent times. However, the stage is set for a classic and we expect this one to see goals aplenty.

Favourable Tips

1. Over 2.5 Match Goals @ 1.66

1. Full-Time Result – Draw @ 3.80

Manchester City vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace would be disappointed not to have beaten Arsenal on Thursday night, which might have given them the boost required to face a resurgent Manchester City at Etihad. City are far from their best but have started grinding out narrow victories, which is the first step towards returning to their domineering selves. Despite playing well below average by expectations, City are just four points behind rivals United at the top, with a game in hand. And, a win over Palace might bring them to within a point to the top of the table.

Palace though, have gotten 4 of a maximum 6 points on their last two visits to Etihad and will relish the chance of facing them on the back of a three-match undefeated streak. However, Ruben Dias and John Stones seem to have struck quite a profitable partnership for City at the back, making the defence more robust and consistent. Regardless of the result, we expect goals in this encounter.

Favourable Tips

1. Over 2.5 Match Goals @ 1.53

Hot Ones

1. Manchester City Clean Sheet – NO @ 2.20

Arsenal vs Newcastle

Emirates will be host to a battle between a team in free fall and a team that has managed to arrest their rut to an extent. Arsenal were on a three-game winning run but the Palace game was a staunch reminder that a lot of work remains to be done before the Gunners can truly be back and among the other clubs near the top end of the table. Arsenal though should get this over the line.

Favourable Tips

1. Arsenal to beat Newcastle @ 1.40

Hot Ones

1. Alexandre Lacazette to score first @ 4.00

Best of the Rest

Leicester and Southampton should play out an entertaining fixture with goalmouth action. Leeds should be able to overcome the Brighton challenge while West Ham are favourites against Burnley.

2. Leicester vs Southampton – Both Teams to Score – YES @ 1.80

3. West Ham to beat Burnley @ 1.80
