We provide potentially marketable betting tips for Gameweek 16 of the Premier League featuring Everton vs Manchester City as the Match of the Day.

The last gameweek of a tumultuous 2020 is upon us and we have some intriguing storylines lined up for this midweek Matchday. Chelsea host an Aston Villa side that are level on points with them and in fact, sit one place above them on the Premier League table due to a favourable goal difference.

Everton come into their game against Manchester City second on the table and Pep Guardiola would be hoping his side can close the gap with the chasing pack before we head into 2021. Arsenal will look to go on a run on the back of a 3-1 win over Chelsea as they travel to face Brighton while Manchester United will hope to go back to winning ways when they welcome Wolves.

Tottenham seem to be in a rut and Jose Mourinho would hope Fulham would serve as the perfect opponents to close out a year of massive improvement for Spurs. Liverpool close the last gameweek of 2020 out with a visit to Newcastle United, who are perilously coming close to being dragged into the relegation dogfight.

An intriguing battle but one where Chelsea come in as the one with the poorer form. The Blues have lost to a struggling Arsenal side in a rather embarrassing fashion, with the entire team not looking up for it, that too in a local derby. Villa have been tight at the back and reaped rewards of their strong foundation in defence with good output at the other end.

We are going with Villa to get something from this game. A 0-0 will not be a surprise.

Favourable Tips

1. Both Teams to Score – NO @ 2.25

Hot Ones

1. Aston Villa Asian Handicap 0.0 @ 3.450

Everton vs Manchester City

This is a fixture that will decide whether Everton go into the new year leading the chasing pack in the Premier League. Carlo Ancelotti has turned Everton into serious contenders for not just the European places but possibly for the title this season, despite being struck with injuries at unfortunate times to key players.

Manchester City can jump up to be equal on points with Everton if they beat the hosts and it will be interesting to see if Pep Guardiola can upstage Carlo Ancelotti one more time.

Note: The fixture has since been postponed due to a number of positive cases in the Manchester City camp.

Favourable Tips

1. Both Teams to Score – YES @ 1.80

Hot Ones

1. Riyad Mahrez to score anytime @ 2.50

Brighton vs Arsenal

Mikel Arteta may have led Arsenal to a win over rivals but it will account for nothing if they are unable to follow it up with a run of positive results. Arsenal are still 15th on the table despite the win and must go on a run instead of folding in like they did after their win over Manchester United. Brighton have a string of draws coming into the game and Arsenal are our pick for this fixture, if only slightly.

Favourable Tips

1. Arsenal Draw No Bet @ 1.61

Hot Ones

1. Full Time Result – Draw @ 3.40

Manchester United vs Wolves

Wolves have been highly inconsistent and their Wednesday opponents have been the exact opposite in recent times. Manchester United will have the opportunity to go up to second on the Premier League table if they win against Wolves, providing other results go their way. Recent history at Old Trafford favours Manchester United and that, combined with current form, gives Manchester United the edge going into their match against Wolves.

Favourable Tips

1. Both Teams to Score – YES @ 1.95

2. Manchester United to win @ 1.55

Hot Ones

1. Over 3.5 Match Goals @ 3.40

Tottenham vs Fulham

Jose Mourinho would be egging his Spurs side to close out 2020 with a win and hopefully gain back some more places on the league table. Fulham have somewhat impressed recently with their resilience but they could be on the end of a hungry and determined Tottenham side. A big win expected for the hosts.

Favourable Tips

1. Tottenham to win @ 1.50

Hot Ones

1. Tottenham Asian Handicap -2.0 @ 4.100

Newcastle United vs Liverpool

Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw against a West Brom side that refused to give any space to the Reds. Sam Allardyce frustrated Jurgen Klopp with his tactics and Steve Bruce would be hoping to do the same to the current Premier League leaders. This could prove to be an entertaining game to watch, purely based on the dynamic on display after Klopp’s post-game comments in the 1-1 draw against West Brom.

Favourable Tips

1. Both Teams to Score – YES @ 1.90

Hot Ones

1. Callum Wilson to score anytime @ 3.50

Best of the Rest

Burnley were harshly done by refereeing decisions once again in their defeat to Leeds and Sean Dyche will pump his side to respond positively with a win over Sheffield United. Southampton will have the edge over fellow top table side West Ham United. West Brom and Leeds should produce an entertaining matchup, just like most Leeds game this season.

Favourable Tips

1. Burnley to beat Sheffield United @ 2.37

2. Southampton to beat West Ham @ 2.15

Hot Ones

1. West Brom vs Leeds – Full Time Result – Draw @ 3.75
