We provide potentially marketable betting tips for Gameweek 8 of the Premier League featuring Manchester City vs Liverpool as the Match of the Day.

The Premier League table will slowly start to take shape as we close in on double figures in terms of matches played for each team. However, early storylines include a struggling Manchester United and Manchester City while the likes of Southampton and Everton continue to thrive.

Everton go up against a Manchester United side that might be playing for their manager’s job at Goodison Park. The Toffees have had a history of aiding the sack of a Manchester United manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era and it would be interesting to see if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can save himself from becoming a part of the trend.

Manchester City will be put to test once again, this time coming up against a Liverpool side that seem to be up for taking in the absence of Virgil van Dijk and a misfiring Roberto Firmino. Chelsea face a hungry Sheffield United side while Aston Villa attempt to arrest their rut as they face an Arsenal side that will be brimming with confidence after their win over Manchester United.

Many other interesting matches in Gameweek 8 as we dive straight into it.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the backing of the fans and the board, as per reports. However, the unwavering support has started to wane a bit, with the recent results. Lacklustre defeats to Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir have been followed by talks of a potential sack.

Ole, though, will be focused on improving the domestic form and a win over high-flying Everton should do the trick for now. The manager would want a response from his players and is likely to get one, with many coming out to speak in support of the manager recently.

Favourable Bets

1. Manchester United to win @ 2.37

Hot Ones

1. Edinson Cavani to score anytime @ 2.62

Chelsea vs Sheffield United

Not much can be said for Chelsea, apart from the fact that they seem inconsistent to the T. Timo Werner did bag a brace in their 3-0 win over 10-man Rennes. But, the match wasn’t bereft of defensive hiccups either. Frank Lampard would be happy to have Edouard Mendy in goal, but with a hungry Sheffield United side looking to register points on the board, this could be a tricky affair.

Favourable Bets

1. Chelsea Clean Sheet – NO @ 1.72

Hot Ones

1. Full Time Result – Draw or Sheffield United @ 3.00

West Brom vs Tottenham

Jose Mourinho has lofty expectations of his Tottenham side and he made it known to the players after their unceremonious defeat to Antwerp. Spurs did respond in an apt manner and it would now be a case of seizing the opportunity of setting the pace early on, with the club just two points behind joint-leaders Southampton and Liverpool.

West Brom are yet to register a win and are unlikely to do that against Tottenham on Sunday. A Spurs win beckons.

Favourable Bets

1. Tottenham to win @ 1.45

Hot Ones

1. Son Heung-Min to score anytime @ 2.30

Manchester City vs Liverpool

What better way for Manchester City players to redeem themselves for their woeful start than to clinch a win over their direct championship rivals Liverpool. The Reds will be without their talisman Virgil van Dijk and that could be the difference. City are looking like they are starting to get into their usual groove and Sunday could provide us with the first glimpse of what this new side is capable of.

Pep Guardiola will be looking to close down the gap as well and we might just see that. Expect goals in this open-ended affair.

Favourable Bets

1. Manchester City to win @ 1.95

Hot Ones

1. Raheem Sterling to score 2 or more @ 5.50

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

Aston Villa have lost their last two Premier League games. Interestingly, though, the Villans are still above Arsenal with a game in hand as well. Arsenal would be buoyant with the win over Manchester United. But, they could be in for a harsh reality check on Sunday night, especially with the tight defensive line that Villa have.

Favourable Bets

1. Under 3.5 Match Goals @ 1.44

Hot Ones

1. Full Time Result – Draw @ 4.10
