With strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani both set to leave Ligue 1 champions PSG in the summer, the Parisians are now targeting Liverpool FC forward Daniel Sturridge as a possible replacement.   Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been quite open about his intention to leave PSG at the end of the season, all but confirming his exit by jokingly suggesting that he would only consider staying if the Eiffel Tower were replaced with his statue. The Swedish striker has also indicated that he would like to play in the Premier League. PSG’s second striker Edinson Cavani has been unhappy with his game time at the Parc des Princes, and could be looking for a move away from the club as well. This could prompt the Ligue 1 giants to make a move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, who has been rumoured to be unhappy at Anfield. The gulf between the two teams is evident from the fact that while Iran lead Group D of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, while India are sitting right at the bottom. Iran won the reverse leg in Bangalore with a 3-0 margin and would be eager to do the double over the Blue Tigers who will look to keep the scoreline respectable. Team News And Tactical Brief Iran Team Melli haven’t had the best of qualification campaigns and dropped points away from home against both Turkmenistan and Oman. Zlatan isn’t on the wishlist of the Premier League club he wants to join, even as a free agent. On the other hand, Liverpool are waiting to find out how much they have to pay for the English striker they acquired last season. Manchester United’s hot and cold pursuit of Lazio’s Felipe Anderson has come to the fore once again, as the player’s agent said that no offers have been made, but stated that there’s always room for negotiation. No offer yet for Felipe Anderson, but agent open to talks? Brazilian attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson has long been on Manchester United’s radar. There were even reports that his current club Lazio rejected a 50 million euro bid for Anderson last summer. The Serie A club could struggle to keep him this time around though, having crashed out of the Europa League and underwhelmed in the Serie A. Manchester United are getting closer and closer to signing the 22-year-old, if the […]

The Indian National Football team is gearing up to take on Iran and Turkmenistan in the last two matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. As things stand in group D, India are perched at the bottom with three points — four points adrift of fourth-placed Guam.   The Blue Tigers will need a minimum of four points in their last two matches to progress to the qualifying round of the 2019 Asian Cup, and will also have to hope that Oman don’t drop points to Guam at home. Anything less than that, and India will have to participate in the playoffs to book a spot in the qualifying rounds of the 2019 Asian Cup. The playoffs will involve the bottom 12 teams from across the eight groups. Picking up a point in Tehran against Iran will be a Herculean task, and it looks increasingly likely that India will be unable to qualify directly. The matches are significant, however, as […]
