Delhi Dynamos FC in association with Indian Super League today conducted its grassroots scouting festival for the Reliance Foundation Young Champs Programme. The Dynamos kicked off their grassroots programme for 2016 with an open trial on Wednesday (March 30) which saw a whopping turnout of over 350 people out of which they shortlisted about 120 kids. These shortlisted kids took part in the final round of selections held earlier today at the New Willingdon Ground, Chanakyapuri. At this festival, the coaches from Delhi Dynamos FC, along with coaches appointed by the ISL, selected the best talent. The top 110 players selected from the open trials along with further scouted players from the Club’s various grassroots initiatives formed the cream of the talent for the festival. India lost their final FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier against Turkmenistan 2-1, after the visitors completed a remarkable comeback to score two second half goals and win the match. The match in itself was already an inconsequential one, as the positions of both the teams in the group had been decided from before. While Turkmenistan were destined to finish third in Group D, the Indians were rooted to the spot, regardless of the result of the match. The Indian National Football team takes on Turkmenistan in the final match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at Kochi. Antonio Conte, who is heavily tipped to join Chelsea FC after Euro 2016, has reportedly been impressed by Romelu Lukaku and is likely to make the Everton striker his top priority, if he were to take over at the West London club later this year. India suffered their sixth loss of the 2018 World Cup Qualifying campaign, after suffering a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Asian giants Iran on Thursday, at the Azadi Stadium, in Tehran. The Blue Tigers started off well, but a brace from Iran captain Ehsan Haji Safi and a goal each from Sardar Azmoun and Alireza Jahan Bakhsh were enough to see the away side off, as Iran went three points clear at the top of Group D of the Asian Qualifiers.
