a In the second half, we needed to take a risk and when you play against Chelsea, one of the best teams in the world, they are in a comfortable situation when they play on the counter-attack.

a We always pushed, we always showed character and this is the positive thing we need to take.a

Chelsea won the game via a goal each from John Terry and Diego Costa. In the first half, Tottenham were doing a good job and also came close to breaking the deadlock through a Christian Eriksen strike, which unfortunately landed on the cross-bar. However, Chelsea had the upper hand in the second half and won the game quite convincingly.

Mauricio Pochettino also talked about how the young side of Tottenham needed to live through the defeat, in order to gain more experience and make sure not to repeat history in the next final.

a This is something we need to live through to understand that for the next experience and next final, we dona t repeat the same result,a said Mauricio.

The win means that Chelsea have won the first major honour of the season that was up for grabs for the English Premier League sides. Now Jose Mourinho will turn his focus to maintaining his position at the top of the Premier League and get through to the next round in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Tottenham now only have to work in the Premier League and attempt to seal a top four finish.
