Manchester United target and current AS Roma midfielder, Kevin Strootman has supposedly dozed all speculations, linking him with a move away from Rome. The Dutch International, has said that a move away from AS Roma’s Stadio Olimpico, would be ‘disrespectful’. Strootman, has been identified as a target by Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, who is also the manager of Strootman’s National team Holland. The 24 year old has been away from the regular hassle of Italian football due to a cruciate ligament injury. Strootman asserts that his focus now is on getting back to full fitness and delivering once again for the Romans.

“I want to play more, and return to my best level,” Strootman told Sky.

“I’ve signed up for five years, but so far I’ve only been playing for six or seven months. I want to play and help the team. That’s important to me.

“If I spoke about other clubs that would be disrespectful, and I don’t want to do that.”

The former PSV midfielder has agreed to his dipping form in recent weeks and although the slump in form could be blamed on injuries, Strootman, is determined to get back to top shape and be effective for AS Roma, once again.

“I worked for eight months to come back. I played against Sassuolo and I wasn’t good, then I came on against [CSKA] Moscow and wasn’t right.

“After the winter break I’ve been training with more confidence, I feel better physically and I’m returning to 100 per cent.

“I’m not there yet, but I’m coming back.”

Although, Strootman might not want to express interest from Manchester United, British media are already speculating a big money move for the 24 year old. Manchester United are supposedly been handed a war chest to reinforce their squad and solidify that third position in the Premier League. AS Roma’s Kevin Strootman, has been a transfer target for Manchester United since last summer and if he agrees to join the Premier League outfit then United’s woes in midfield could be easily rectified.

Manchester United’ coach Louis van Gaal, has already expressed his interest of working with the 24 year old. Meanwhile, if Kevin Strootman moves from AS Roma to Manchester United, which according to Strootman’s comment would be ‘disrespectful’ then Manchester United fans, could take a sigh of relief as he is expected to partner Micheal Carrick, in United’s midfield.
