Delhi Dynamos coach Roberto Carlos, on Saturday, commented on Zicoa s role in his career, as the Dynamos prepare to face off FC Goa in their opening fixture of Hero Indian Super League at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, on Sunday.
Carlos would act as both coach and the marquee player for the star-studded Delhi Dynamos in the second season of Hero Indian Super League
Carlos, famous for his free kick as well as his marauding runs from the left back position, told in the press conference it would be a special feeling to step out for the ISL opener at Fatorda.
a FC Goa is coached by Zico, who was not just my coach at Fenerbahche in Turkey but also a father-figure to me. This match is not just a clash between a student and teacher, like Zico said, but also a father and son,a Carlos told reporters during the pre-match briefing on Saturday.
The Brazilian influence in the match will be a key thing to watch out during the match. Both Roberto Carlos and Lucio, the marquee player for FC Goa, partnered in defence as Brazil won the 2002 World Cup, but will now be in the opposing with both of them trying their best to out manoeuvre their opponent.
a We know FC Goa will be very tough. This will be a clash of two teams who are equally determined to win the ISL title. I can promise everyone that this will be an entertaining match,a said Carlos.
Delhi Dynamos have a star-studded team with players like UEFA Champions League winners John Arne Riise and Florent Malouda, besides a host of other foreign players with a proven track record. Carlos is also registered as player and said he was ready to play.
