According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain duo Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi are unhappy in Paris with Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and other European heavyweights keen to sign the players from the French outfit.
Cavani and Lavezzi have missed training sessions with PSG and manager Laurent Blanc has revealed that he is awaiting ‘explanations’ before taking a call regarding the future of the two players. The duo did not travel with the squad to Morocco for a warm-weather training trip and there are rumours surrounding their future with the transfer window now open in Europe.
“We’re waiting for certain explanations as they arrive and we will take decisions from a sporting perspective and from the club’s.”
Cavani has long been linked with a move to England following his big money move from Napoli to PSG. Arsenal and Liverpool are keen to sign the Uruguayan international with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United also monitoring the situation.
According to reports, Cavani has been given the green light by PSG to leave in the summer with Arsenal and Liverpool leading the race for the striker. Despite the presence of Giroud and Welbeck, Arsenal lack the influence of a clinical striker and Wenger has been reported to be interested in signing Cavani. It is being reported that PSG have put a price tag of £62million on the Uruguayan and though the striker wants to stay in Paris till the summer, he could make a move in the Winter transfer window itself.
Liverpool are also in the market for a striker following the departure of Luis Suarez in 2014. Mario Balotelli has failed to settle down at Anfield with manager Brendan Rodgers being vocal in his criticism of the Italian striker. It is now expected that Liverpool will bid for Cavani and is ready to battle Arsenal and other clubs to sign the Uruguayan international.
According to reports, Liverpool are also keeping a close eye on Ezequiel Lavezzi and want to sign the Argentine in a bid to improve the attacking fire-power. Lavezzi is reported to be looking for a move away from France and has been linked with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli. Napoli were rumoured to be in the race for Lavezzi but the club chairman has ruled out a move for the Argentine which means that Liverpool might be able to land the player if they meet the club’s asking price.
