Real Madrid were interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti but now have shifted their interest towards Juventusa Arturo Vidal and Monacoa s Kondogbia.

After a disappointing season marred with injuries, Real Madrid are looking at various reinforcements to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season. Carlo Ancelottia s predecessor, Rafael Benitez is believed to be interested in signing a winger, forward and a midfielder. Among the three positions, the central midfield area requires the most attention as last season two fatal injuries to Luka Modric saw a major drop in the Spanish giantsa performances.

It was believed earlier that Real Madrid were highly interested in signing Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain. But the Italian is no longer on their radar as PSG have developed a keen interest in Reala s star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo. Los Blancos have no intensions of selling the Portuguese and they would want to avoid complications that PSG might raise for Verrattia s signature. . According to AS.com, Real Madrid have instead shifted their focus to Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and AS Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Arturo Vidal is one of the worlda s best midfielders and the Chilean will fit in perfectly at Real Madrid. Vidal is physically strong and also one of the best while attacking. Vidal is a world-class player but signing the Juve midfielder will pose problems for Kroos and Modric as the Serie A winner will not be satisfied with a bench-warmera s role. On the other hand, Monacoa s Kondogbia is a budding talent. The Frenchman is only 22-years old and brimming with potential. Kondogbia is a promising talent and will provide stability playing a deeper role in the midfield. The Monaco player may even accept the role of playing as a back-up to Kroos and Modric and providing support to the defence by coming on as a substitute.
