Borussia Dortmund stalwart Mats Hummels has backed the new Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp to win the Premier League title with the Anfield outfit.
As the German manager prepares to take charge for the Reds for the first time against Tottenham Hotspur, he has been backed by his former player Mats Hummels to win the league in his time with the Reds
Klopp to win the Reds the league as per Hummels
Hailing his former manager with whom he had won two leagues in Germany, Klopp was quoted as saying by ESPN FC:
“I am convinced Klopp can win the league at Liverpool.
“He has shown he doesn’t need the biggest transfer budget or the biggest names to win the biggest trophies.
“He is a winner, I know him. His long term goal won’t just be to qualify for the Champions League, and settle for that. It will be to challenge Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal for the title, and he is absolutely capable of doing that.”
Lewadowski backs Klopp for success at Liverpool FC
Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has also backed his former Borussia Dormtund boss to get the best out of players at Anfield.
“At Liverpool he will be able to do many good things. His positive way of thinking will help the players and give them their focus back,” said Lewandowski.
“I wish him good luck. I don’t know all the Liverpool players, but I’m sure Klopp will improve them.
“I heard he put on a show at his first news conference at Liverpool. That is the way he is. Klopp is an awesome guy.”
Klopp did win the league with Dormtund. But, they were the second richest team in Germany. It is altogether a different challenge to take Liverpool FC to the title, with the riches of Arsenal FC, Manchester United, City and Chelsea FC to compete against.
Klopp will have his task cut out to get the Reds to end their title wait having last won the league in the 1990-91 season.
