In a recent survey, Manchester United have been voted the most hated club out of all Premier League teams while Southampton have been voted the most loved. .
The survey was conducted by British daily The Mirror, which asked fans from all the club’s in the current English top tier to vote for the club they hate the most and the club they loved the most. Equal weightage was given to fans from all of the 20 clubs in order to draw an unbiased conclusion.
The Red Devils lead the line in the most hated club’s survey
Manchester United topped the charts in the most hated category, while Premier League holders Chelsea FC came a close second. Liverpool FC were some way off at 3rd and the top 5 were completed by Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. FA Cup champions Arsenal FC were joint sixth with Stoke City. Permier League new boys AFC Bournemouth – who have earned promotion to English top-tier for the first time in their 115 year history are the least hated club. Southampton feature in at 19 with Swansea at 18.
Arsenal FC make it into the top 5 of the most loved club’s survey
In the most loved category, Southampton topped the list. Surprisingly, Bournemouth is the second most loved by the fans. The top five in this category provides some surprises. Swansea City who were 3rd from bottom in the hated category are 3rd from top in the loved category. The surprise inclusions are of Arsenal FC and Everton, who helped complete the top five.
Arsenal FC were 6th in the most hated category, but are also loved by fans from most Premier League clubs as they ranked 4th in the loved category. While the Gunners are known for their classy ways on and off the pitch, led by the gentleman, Arsene Wenger himself, it might come as a surprise that fans from a number of other clubs do adore the Emirates stadium outfit.
