Ilkay Gundogan has been touted as Xavia s replacement at Barcelona with Manchester United also keen on signing the German international from Dortmund. The midfielder has a strong presence in the midfield and is a threat for the opposition with his attacking abilities.
Having successfully returned from his back injury, Gundogan played an important role for Dortmund even though the club went through one of its worst seasons in recent years. Gundogana s contract runs till June 2016 and hence he is likely to leave the club this summer with Jurgen Klopp announcing his departure.
However, Manchester United and Barcelona are also in the pursuit of Paul Pogba which could further complicate the deal for Ilkay Gundogan.
