FC Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano has revealed that the modesty and lack of ego in the front three of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez is the reason for their incredible performances together.
The front three of Neymar, Messi and Suarez were the main reason why the Catalans won all three major trophies they played in, last season.
The prolific trio have left off from where they started last season, plunging in goals after goals, game after game.
Javier Mascherano explains the reason for success of the trio
With FC Barcelona traveling to Japan to play in the Club World Championship, Javier Mascherano was on hand to reveal the secret behind the success enjoyed by the trio.
Speaking to the official FC Barcelona website, he said: “It’s the best trio I have seen. To say we will see nothing like it again, you never know.
“The most surprising thing is that they complement each other so well and each one of them brings us something different.
“That they get on so well and don’t let egos get in the way is not easy, it’s not easy to share the limelight the way they do.
“They do it naturally and modestly. They mark the way forward for the team. If the stars get on so well then it is up to the rest to follow that example.”
The greatest triad of all time?
Mascherano’s statement about the three FC Barcelona South American forwards being the best trio of all time may be disputed by AC Milan fans, who had the trio of Ruud Gullit, Van Basten and Frank Rijkaard, or Gre-No-Li, a trio of Swedish players in Gunnar Gren, Gunnar Nordahl and Nils Liedholm – hailed by many as two of the greatest triple threats on the football pitch.
The debate may rage on for now, but, if the Catalan trio continue to play the way they are for the next three to four years, it will be unsurprising that there will be no more debates.
