Chelsea FC suffered their first defeat in the UEFA Champions League after crashing to a 2-1 defeat against FC Porto in their Group G meeting on Tuesday
The Blues had the opportunity to cement their place at the top of the group with a win against their most likely challengers for top spot in FC Porto, instead, they fell to a 2-1 defeat after another defensive horror-show that allowed the Portuguese side to snatch all three points.
Chelsea FC captain John Terry was once again left out of the starting line-up by manager Jos Mourinho, as were first-team regulars Eden Hazard and Nemanja Mati , while Oscar. Radamel Falcao and LoA?c R my were left out of the squad altogether.
The changes ultimately did not affect the overall performance of the side, or indeed the result, and the Blues must now look to get maximum points against Dynamo Kyiv in the next two fixtures to ensure they top their group.
Ivanvovi criticised again, fans want John Terry back
Serbian right-back and Chelsea FC vice-captain Branislav Ivanovi has had a torrid season thus far, and things did not improve for him on Tuesday night when he came up against the pace and trickery of FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.
Blues fans were once again critical of the 31-year-old, while also calling for John Terry to return to the Chelsea FC starting line-up. Many others were unconvinced by manager Jos Mourinho’s post-match analysis, with the Portuguese insisting that his side had a good performance apart from two ‘ridiculous’ mistakes.
Ivanovic captaining Chelsea has a whiff of Kaboul at Spurs under Sherwood. How can you lead as the worst performer on the pitch? #cfc

It took Branislav Ivanovic until the 90th minute to win a tackle vs. Porto tonight. Better late than never… pic.twitter.com/44AX3klHZx

Ivanovic had a 10 per cent success rate with his tackles tonight. That’s nice. . #CFC

Not even Ivanovic’s mother would include him in Chelsea’s starting XI.

A night of Champions League football as chaotic as Ivanovic’s defending.

Mourinho surely meant two mistakes as in him not starting Terry and starting Ivanovic surely?

John Terry warming down on the pitch to a huge reception. An absolute farce that he’s not first name on teamsheet.

Chelsea’s defending is a shambles…how can John Terry not get in this team?

Right now; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Terry, Baba is our best back-4.
