The Merseyside club however has completed the signing of Nathaniel Clyne and have cooled their interest in Montoya, while Arsenal with Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debuchy in their ranks, arena t in desperate need of a right back.

Montoya also attracted interest from Italy with Fiorentina and Inter Milan monitoring his progress at Barcelona. The Nerazzurri apparently have made their move to sign him and the defendera s agent, Juan De Dios Carrasco, has confirmed that they are currently in talks with the Italian club.

“We’re talking to Inter about Montoya. Let’s hope there could be a good conclusion to these negotiations. We’re working on it. Montoya feels that Inter are a great club and this would represent a great opportunity.” a Carrasco confirmed to Calciomercarto.com.

According to Sport, Inter Milan will sign Montoya on a two year loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent for a 8 million at the end of that period. The Italian club have already signed Geoffrey Kondogbia from AS Monaco this summer and are looking to build a squad which can challenge Juventus for the title next season.
