FC Barcelona are targeting Brazilian wonderkid Gerson and he has admitted he would love to play for the Champions League winners, but also for runners up Juventus.

Gerson is widely considered as one of the most talented youngsters of Brazilian football. He started his professional career at Fluminense and has now become an influential member of the team.

It is no surprise that he has attracted interest from two of the biggest clubs in the world in the form of FC Barcelona and Juventus.

And Gerson admitted that while he is relaxed over his future and is solely focused on building a career with Fluminense, playing for either one of the Champions League would be a dream.

“I just think about playing, I prefer to let my father deal with all these things,” he told Fox Sports.

“Any player dreams of wearing the shirt of Barcelona or Juventus, they are among the best teams in the world.

“There’s no point denying that I like the offers, but my mind is completely focused on Fluminense.”

Juventus, in fact, were the first European club to notice the player and his undeniable talent and even began talks with his father for a potential summer transfer. However, Juventus’s recent offer of a 20m for the 18-year-old was swiftly rejected by Fluminense which has made Barcelona come one step closer in his purchase.

Football Espana reported that Barcelona are close to getting their man. They wrote: It is understood that Barca director Raul Sanllehi and South American representative Andre Cury travelled to Brazil to discuss the rival offer.Consequently, the entourage have been successful in convincing the Brazilian club to keep the starlet for one more year and return to the negotiating table once La Blaugranaa s transfer embargo ends.

Barcelona’s transfer ban means that the Brazilian would remain in Brazil till 2016, but if a deal for the player could be agreed in advance, as is being suggested, the Catalan side would have their man next year.
