FC Barcelona are on a winning streak of 11 games in all competitions now and midfielder Andres Iniesta has declared that he is not satisfied yet as the club wants to win all the major trophies this season. Iniesta has also called upon Lionel Messi to put a pen to a new deal and sign the contract extension.

FC Barcelona were struggling in the latter half of 2014 and early 2015 as the club lost many valuable points in La Liga while there was also a spat between coach Luis Enrique and Leo Messi. But it appears that the club has recovered well from the recent shocks as they have won 11 consecutive games in all competitions while FC Barcelona are also the favorites to progress into the quarter finals of UEFA Champions League, at the expense of Man City.

In his interview to the official website of FIFA, FC Barcelona icon Andres Iniesta said that although he his happy with the recent recovery of the club, he is not fully satisfied yet.

“We are out to win everything we can and have a lot to look forward to. We’ve got a great team and the disappointment of last year has to be a motivation for us to show our true colours and try to end this season with a smile on our faces and our fans celebrating silverware once more.”

There was a spat between star striker Leo Messi and coach Luis Enrique when the Argentine captain was left out from the starting XI of FC Barcelona for a game against Real Sociedad. Messi admitted it at the FIFA Ballon da Or ceremony that even he doesn’t know about his own future. But Iniesta has said that he wants Messi to extend his contract at the club.

“I hope and wish that Leo Messi can be with Barca for a long time, because he has been, is and will be fundamental to us competing for honours. That’s my sole desire,” Iniesta said.

In his interview, Andres Iniesta admitted that there were negative talks going on surrounding the club in January, but said that such things happen at a big club like FC Barcelona and the players must move on from such incidents.

“We know we’re at a club where a lot is asked of you, where everything is magnified tenfold. There are so many opinions and a lot of things can come from thata The only way we can change that and make the public more settled is by playing well and winning. That way they forget a bit about all the stuff on the outside and focus instead on what their players are doing on the pitch”.
