Juventus defender Patrice Evra says he will shake Luis Suareza s hand ahead of the Champions League final.
The FC Barcelona striker infamously appeared to snub Evra when playing for Liverpool FC against Manchester United after the Uruguayan returned from a ban for racially abusing the French defender.
a I will shake his hand a I am a professional,a Evra was quoted saying to Sky Sports.
a Like Ia ve said many times, Ia m proud of my colour and it doesna t matter. Ia m playing against FC Barcelona, Ia m not playing just against Luis Suarez.”
a Every player in the team, they will feel me, because I will play a really important game.a
Evra also went onto add that he is not interested in apology regarding the incident from Suarez:
‘I don’t want his apologies. It doesn’t matter, it’s no problem for me. But when we are going to play the game, I will shake his hand. He will never be my best friend, but this is not a problem.’
Evra also went onto add that leaving Manchester United was hard:
a It was really difficult for me to leave Manchester United. I left for a personal choice,a Evra told Sky Sports.
a It doesna t matter if you go somewhere and youa re still winning a ita s always the wrong decision to leave a club like Manchester United.”
Evra will be up against his former team mate Gerard Pique in the final and will be hoping to take revenge against Barcelona againt whom he lost two finals with Manchester United. A loss in the final will make it 4 losses in the Champions League final having also lost with Monaco in 2004 against Jose Mourinho’s Porto.
