Barcelona superstar Neymar has tipped compatriot Philippe Coutinho to become Premier League’s best player.

Neymar believes Liverpool’s 22 year old Philippe Coutinho, who is enjoying great form at the moment, and celebrated his new five-year contract with the club by netting a sensational, late winner at Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round replay, can become Premier League’s biggest star.

Neymar has known Coutinho since they played in Brazil’s Under-17s national side together, said, “He can be the star player in England. This season I think everybody in England is seeing how talented he is – and I know he has a lot more to show. We have been good friends since we were 16. Not only is he a fantastic player, he is a good guy to have in the dressing room, always positive and making jokes.”

The Barcelona attacker believes that Coutinho has the potential to fill Luis Suarez’s void, who left the Reds for Barcelona in the summer, and can be a creative force for creative void in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

He said, “I think since Luis joined us at Barcelona, Liverpool have not had that one player they can look to for that special moment. Couto can be that player for them I’m sure. When he has the ball at his feet, he can make things happen for himself and he can make things happen for other players. He is a very special player.”

Coutinho’s good form in 2014 earned him a recall to Dunga’s Brazil side, after he was left out of the World Cup side. The player has five caps for Brazil and Neymar said that the Liverpool player has a lot to give to the national side as well.

He added, “He will play a big part in the future of the national team. The national steam is very strong, but the way he is playing for Liverpool, I’m sure he will be a big part of Brazil going forward.”
