Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund are in danger of getting relegated this season and amidst their fight for survival, many of their star players are thinking of leaving the club. Arsenal are now plotting a double swoop of Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan.

The Daily Star has claimed that The Gunners boss has been hotly tipped with a swoop for centre-back Mats Hummels for months. And the Frenchman is now set to follow up that up with a bid for defensive midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. Mats Hummels is edging closer to an exit from the German giants after refusing to commit his future to the club.

The contract of Mats Hummels is set to expire in 2017 and Borussia Dortmund have offered him an extension, but the player has refused to sign it as he is holding out for a move to another club. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking for a quality addition to his ailing defence and thinks that Mats Hummels is a perfect candidate.

But the task ahead of Arsenal is not easy as the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are also interested in Mats Hummels.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also keeping a close tab on the situation of Ilkay Gundogan at Borussia Dortmund.
