Amounting just a point in two games, and with league leaders Atletico de Kolkata visiting next, it is almost necessary for the Zico masterminded FC Goa side, to get their guns blazing, in a fixture which should be as cracking as Diwali itself.

“It is important as a team to create opportunities. It wasn’t so only in the second game but even in the first. It is important to take the right call and do the right things so that we can put the ball into the back of the net.” said Zico, in the pre match conference

Although the Goan side, would expect to face an Atletico side, deprived of Marquee player, Luis Garcia. Garcia, suffered an injury against Delhi Dynamos, last time around.

“He is an excellent player and Atlético de Kolkata will miss him, but they have many other good players who can replace him. As a coach, we always want the best players on the pitch, but injuries are part of the game,” he said.

Another piece of the Goan puzzle is Robert Pires, who recently was victimized by heavy tackles and physicality.

““Don’t put any pressure on him.  He may be older than most other guys but he’s a professional. We know his limitations but he’s still got a lot to show. He’s a very important player for the side,” Zico said, defending the Frenchman.

With Andre Santos, back into the squad, chances to collect points, look likely. Santos, however operated as a holding player, sitting infront of defense, in Goa’s last encounter against NorthEast United.

““I’m fit and ready for the game and my concentration level is good as well. I arrived only a week or so ago but I’ve been practising every day. I hope to improve every game I play because we don’t have enough time to practice considering we play game after game every few days. We do however, need to keep fit,” commented Santos.while talking to the ISL Media Team

Perhaps, the Goan Contingent needs time and time alone to settle their game and start clicking. It is solely upto the legendary Zico, to see how this modus-operandi plans out, whilst collecting points in the process.
