Mauricio Pochettino is known for the development of young talent and Tottenham are travelling in that direction. They are targeting Swansea City’s Wales defender Ben Davies and Nottingham Forests’ England U-20 International Jamal Lascellas in-order to build a strong outfit for the future.

Tottenham Hotspur are counting on Mauricio Pochettino to guide them back to Champions League and to take the club forward. The former Southampton manager is entrusted with the Tottenham job for 5 years, and for the long term progression of a club developing young talent is very crucial. The White Hart Lane hierarchy has always given importance to catching and grooming them young.

Tottenham are planning to build on their good work so far and the addition of young British talent is seemed as a priority at this moment. Swansea City’s 21-year-old left back Ben Davies is a primary target for Tottenham, and both teams are in discussions over a possible transfer. The potential departure of club captain Michael Dawson is looming large and the Spurs are in search of a replacement for a long term for the skipper.

Nottingham Forest has a young defender on their ranks who has attracted interest from Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham and QPR. Young British talent Jamal Lascellas was subject of a  £5 million offer from Arsenal back in January 2011. After a few years Everton was punished by the FA for an unauthorized approach to sign the England U-20 international. Nottingham Forest have held firm over the player who has signed a 4 year contract extension in 2012.

Jamal Lascelles, broke through the Nottingham Forest and established himself as a regular in Championship last season. England youngster made 32 appearances for the Championship side and scored 3 goals in the process. His performances has attracted interest from top clubs in English Premier League yet again. 20-year-old Jamal Lascelles was a subject of a £5million offer from QPR last week. QPR’s bid was rejected by Nottingham Forest and the player is understood to be keen on staying up north.

QPR’s failed bid has raised the hopes of Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino. Jamal Lascelles is valued around £6 million by Nottingham Forest and Spurs are prepared to test the water with a £5 million offer. 189 cm tall center back is still untested in top level, but the progress is made so far and the promising talent has raised the interest from various clubs. With home grown rule playing a part we can expect Jamal Lascelles in Premier League soon as the clubs are in search of young British talent.
