France Captain and Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is a top transfer target of mega rich French side PSG. Tottenham Hotspur are planning to offer their custodian a new deal in-order to keep him at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur’s custodian had kept 15 clean sheets this season and was phenomenal for his side in Premier League. His ability to come off the line quickly to sweep away opposition’s dangerous attacks has given him the tag as the best sweeper keeper in the world. Hugo Lloris is also the skipper of France National team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2014 and is widely expected to make a big mark in the marquee event as well.

Hugo Lloris stands out from the rest with his ability to act as an additional defender, while his reflexes and shot stopping are also top notch. Even though Tottenham capitulated in some of the Premier League matches this season, the custodian was pulling off amazing saves one after the other, and he was the last man to accept defeat even on those adverse days.

Tottenham’s inability to secure Champions League has put the rich clubs on alert who are casting their eyes on the North London squad to strengthen their side. Goal keeper Hugo Lloris, Brazilian Paulinho and Belgian Defender Jan Vertonghen has been targeted by the Champions League sides, and they will be trying out their luck to test Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s resolve soon.

In the past two seasons, Tottenham Hotspur lost their top performers Luka Modric and Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in big money moves. Even though those hefty sums were reinvested in squad rebuilding, it hasn’t produced the goods and Chairman Daniel Levy is thinking of stopping this trend in-order to challenge for titles.

The managerial situation is uncertain at Spurs with Frank De Boer, Mauricio Pochettino and Rafael Benitez believed to be in the race to replace Tim Sherwood at the helm. Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy is the one who pulls the strings at White Hart Lane, and he is a very tough negotiator to deal with in the transfer market. This makes it extremely tough for the interested parties to price Hugo Lloris away from the North London club even if there is uncertainty hanging over the manager’s post.

Tottenham management believes that an improved offer will convince France captain Hugo Lloris to extend his stay at White Hart Lane. He is valued around 30 million at the moment and his market value will rise further if he agrees new terms. PSG are in a tricky situation with UEFA Financial Fair Play rules and are not in a position to break the bank even if they have the money available.

Agreeing new terms with Hugo Lloris will be a bold statement by the Tottenham Hotspur management and can make their ambitions clear with this deal. What will Hugo Lloris do: Will he accept their new offer or Will he demand a move away from the Lane?
