English Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City are working on a swap deal involving three players. Tottenham’s Gylfi Sigurdsson is being offered to land Swansea City’s Ben Davies and Michael Vorm.

Swap deals are not that common in football, it involves a lot of permutations combinations making it a complex deal for both the teams involved. When two teams are seriously interested in each other players, the possibility of a swap deal is analysed. Barcelona and Inter Milan had completed the world famous swap deal involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto in 2009. At the moment, Barcelona is working out on a deal for Luis Suarez with Liverpool. English Premier League side are interested in bringing Chile forward Alexis Sanchez in return as well. But the possibility of a swap deal is very minimal as Alexis Sanchez prefers a move to Arsenal if rumours are to be believed.

Even though the possibility of a swap deal between Barcelona and Liverpool are distant, English Premier League followers saw a swap offer from Liverpool’s competitors Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City. Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a left back, and they are heavily linked with Swansea City’s Wales defender Ben Davies. Tottenham Hotspur have made offers of £8 million and £10 million to acquire the services of the left back if reports are believed.

Apart from Ben Davies, Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony and goal keeper Michael Vorm have also attracted the interest of Tottenham think tank. Mauricio Pochettino is planning to strengthen his squad, and he is looking to add another goal keeper to his ranks to add more strength and depth. Netherlands goal keeper Michael Vorm is a goal keeper comfortable on the ball, and that suits the philosophy of new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham were in discussions with Swansea for the duo, and noticed that the Wales side are huge admirers of their attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. Iceland international had spend 6 months on loan at Swansea in 2012, before opting to join Tottenham (after rejecting the offers from Liverpool and Swansea City). Sigurdsson’s career had stalled at Tottenham, and the management will be happy to sell him if a good offer comes their way.

Tottenham Hotspur are aware of the interest in Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea. Utilizing the opportunity, Tottenham offered Gylfi Sigurdsson in exchange of Ben Davies and Michael Vorm. According to reports in Telegraph and Daily Mail, Swansea City has rejected Tottenham’s swap deal. But the possibility of a deal cannot be ruled out completely, Sigurdsson + cash offer might meet the demands of Swansea and then it will be upto the players to make their minds. Ben Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson can be assured of a regular starting if the deal takes place, Michael Vorm might not fancy his chances if Hugo Lloris prolongs his stay at White Hart Lane. Considering the permutations combinations, the possibility of a swap deal cannot be completely ruled out, but it is a long way off at the moment.
