Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has confirmed his imminent move to Real Madrid after Germany’s World Cup triumph.

Reports from Spain suggested that Toni Kroos has turned down a final offer from Bayern Munich in favour of a move to Real Madrid after the World Cup, and the midfielder has now confirmed these reports after Germany’s World Cup win in Brazil.

Kroos, whose current contract at Bayern Munich will expire in 2015, has been in talks with the German club over an extension but despite both the parties to have failed to agree over a solution as of yet.

Manchester United were initially linked with a move for Kroos in the summer, but the 24-year-old midfielder, who is rated among the best in the world in his position, has publicly ruled out a transfer to Manchester United last month and insisted that Bayern Munich are unlikely to sell him in this transfer window.

Reports from Spain suggested that Toni Kroos is on the verge of completing his move to Real Madrid once the World Cup ends. Carlo Ancelotti is believed to be a big admirer of the German midfielder and sees him as the perfect long-term replacement for Xabi Alonso, whose recent performances, both for club and country has drawn a lot of criticism. Ancelotti also remains unconvinced by the development of Asier Illaramendi and feels the addition of Kroos will help them in wrestling back the league title from Atletico Madrid next season.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported that a deal of €25 million has been agreed between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid over the transfer of Toni Kroos and the German midfielder will sign a five-year contract worth €5 million per year.

According to them Kroos rejected a final offer from Bayern Munich in favour of joining Real Madrid and has also turned down a massive offer from English club Chelsea, who reportedly offered him a bigger contract than Real Madrid, as he wants to move to Spain.

The Bayern Munich star has now confirmed these reports stating that he will join Real Madrid in the upcoming days.

“We’ve finished the World Cup in the best way possible. Now I’m going to Madrid, so that’s two dreams achieved.” – Kroos said after Germany’s win over Argentina in the final of the World Cup.

His agent, Volker Struth, however remains coy over this move and insisted that they will take the final decision on Tuesday.

“It has not yet been decided where Kroos’ future lies, I can guarantee that [He will be joining Real Madrid]

“We’ll sit down and decide what’s to be done. We will announce his decision either on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.” – Struth said in an interview.
