According to Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, the Portuguese superstar’s release clause values at a staggering €1 Billion.
Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes recently claimed that Ronaldo will not be moving to Manchester United and that he will indeed retire at Real Madrid at the age of 40. The Super-Agent of football now claims that the subject of Ronaldo’s future is closed as the winger has no plans of leaving Santiago Bernabeu.
“The price that is stated in his release clause – €1 billion.”
Ronaldo’s agent went on to claim that Ronaldo was not only the best footballer in the world but that he was also the best athlete in the world, spanning all sports. Ronaldo’s physical prowess is second to none and the Portuguese is on a red hot goal scoring form, having found the net 13 times in 6 games.
“In addition to being the best footballer in history, he is the greatest athlete of all time. You cannot compare him with anyone.”
Mendes claims that Ronaldo is the best player in the biggest sport in the world which makes him the best sportsman in the world.
“He is the best player in the biggest sport in the world, in which there is more competition than in any other. For that reason, he is the best sportsman in the world.”
Mendes went to add that Ronaldo is going to out-perform himself if he can manage to stay fit this entire season.
“I’m sure that he will beat his personal record if he does not have any physical problems. For Cristiano, nothing is impossible. He is going to continue evolving and improving until he retires.”
Cristiano’s agent also emphasised on the fact that being a winger, Ronaldo has to make significant efforts to score goals and that he deserves even more credit and praise than what he gets.
“Notice how Cristiano is a winger – he’s not a striker – and his numbers are outrageous. He plays very far from goal and has to make significant efforts to arrive into the box. For that, he deserves even more credit for what he achieves.”
Ronaldo has often been criticised as a ‘selfish’ player and even earned the ire of Santiago Bernabeu last season for refusing to pass the ball to players in better positions than himself. However manager Carlo Ancelotti refutes such claims and defended the Portuguese superstar stating that Ronaldo was both a ‘provider’ and a ‘goal-scorer’.
“Ronaldo is a player with boundless talent, who can score 50 goals per season. More importantly, I can say that he provides plenty of help to his team-mates and his coach.”
“Cristiano is not selfish, he plays in any position he his asked to.”
Ancelotti also recently revealed that the dressing room which he inherited from Jose Mourinho was a broken one, stating that there were ‘obvious’ problems. He went to claim that under Mourinho’s rule, private conversations were often leaked to the press.Iker Casillas had then come under the spotlight and was targeted to be the ‘mole’, allegations which were duly refused by the Real Madrid captain.
“Before I arrived I was aware that there were lots of problems in the dressing room – problems between some players and Mourinho.”
Ancelotti however claims that things returned to normal once he took over the dressing room.
“But when I took charge, everything had returned to calm. I didn’t inherit any tensions. Was I responsible for returning peace to the dressing room? No, no. When I arrived there was already a lot of serenity.”
According to Ancelotti, there hasn’t been a single fight in the dressing room since he arrived and revealed that he was particularly happy by the efforts made by the players throughout the season.
“Ever since I arrived, there hasn’t been one fight in the dressing room. I have never had an unmotivated player or any confrontations with players who haven’t played as much as they’d want to.”
It now remains to be seen if Carlo Ancelotti can repeat the heroics of the last season for he will be aware that Real Madrid will continue demanding results from the Italian manager.
