New Real Madrid signing Javier Hernandez has claimed that his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is way better than FC Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.

Javier Hernandez signed for Real Madrid on the last day of the summer transfer window but he claimed that what he has already been blown away by the talent of Cristiano Ronaldo.

“For me, Cristiano is the best. Messi is there too; after Cristiano, there is the Argentine.” Hernandez said. He was speaking to Spanish newspaper El Chiringuito.

“Without a doubt, Ronaldo is the best,” the 26-year-old said. “In the little time I have been here, I have seen why he is the best in the world.

“It is not only what he does in games so well but on a day-to-day basis.”

Hernandez also claimed that Brazilian Ronaldo is his idol and he wants to emulate the former World Cup winner at Real Madrid. “My idol is Ronaldo Nazario de Lima, ‘The Phenomen’,” Hernandez enthused.

“I’ve never had the chance to meet him, so hopefully one day I can get a picture with him!”

Apart from ranking Ronaldo ahead of Messi, Javier Hernandez also spoke on his current situation at Real Madrid. The Los Blancos  have signed Hernandez only on a one year loan deal and he said that he will try to persuade Real Madrid management to sign him on permanent basis through his performances.

“I was in the best team in Mexico [Chivas], the best team in England [United] and now I’m in the best team in the world,” he said.

“I must be professional, as this is a great opportunity, but I still belong to Manchester and do not know if I will have to go back.”

Reports coming from the Spanish media have claimed that Hernandez is a back of the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema and Gareth Bale at Real Madrid. But Hernandez stressed that he has not moved to Real Madrid to sit on the bench.

“No one trains to be a back-up,” Hernandez said .

“I’m a football player and there are 11 starters, so the ones on the outside are always waiting for a chance and no player will say that they train to wait on the outside.

“I know I will have to face Benzema, as happened to me when I arrived at Manchester. It is normal to compete for a spot.

“I am delighted to be with Karim. I’ve had competition at Manchester United from [Dimitar] Berbatov, [Wayne] Rooney or [Robin] Van Persie and learned from the best in the world.”

Hernandez is likely to make his debut for Real Madrid on this weekend against Atletico Madrid.
