Cristiano Ronaldo scored a record 23rd hat-trick and his 200th goal in the La Liga for Real Madrid and Sergio Ramos looked lost for words to describe the greatness of his team-mate.
It was a night of records at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu as Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid equaled the record of FC Barcelona’s 18 consecutive wins while Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 200th goal in La Liga to help Los Blancos beat resolute Celta Vigo.
Ronaldo won the penalty in first half which clearly was a dive but the Portuguese superstar did not make in mistake to convert it into the goal and this was followed by two second half goals as he completed his 23rd hat-trick, which is a record, in La Liga.
Speaking about the new record of Ronaldo, Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos looked lost for words to describe the talent of his superstar team-mate. Ramos said: “The statistics he is achieving are crazy. The truth is it’s a privilege that Real Madrid has a player like Ronaldo. You have to invent words to describe him. Ronaldo is breaking every record. At the moment, he is maybe in the best form of his career.”
Sergio Ramos also had a night to remember for him as this was his 300th game for Real Madrid. And speaking about his own achievement, Ramos said that: “It’s a special day for me, because it’s not every day you reach such an important number of games. On top of that, as a team things are going very well for us, with this run of victories and we’re up there at the top of the table. Hopefully I can stay here for many more years and double that number, that’s what I would like.”
Sergio Ramos said that he is pleased with the performance of Real Madrid in a win over Celta Vigo. “Celta play very good football, they hold on to the ball well and they try to control possession. With this variety of systems were trying to bring in as the season goes on we were very effective.”
Meanwhile, coach Carlo Ancelotti is about to sign the contract extension with Real Madrid and Ramos said that he also wants the Italian to extend his stay at the club. “It’s great news. He is a stead coach and we hope he is here for as long as possible. Ancelotti knows how to manage the team and I hope he stays here.”
