According to reports in Spain, Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos is close to completing his move to Real Madrid.
Toni Kroos’ future at Bayern Munich has come under a lot of speculations since the January transfer window when Manchester United were linked with a move for the German midfielder. Former United manager David Moyes was believed to be lining up a move for Kroos in the summer with an offer to triple his current wages at Bavarian giants.
Kroos, whose current contract at Bayern Munich will expire in 2015, has been in talks with the German club over an extension but despite both the parties to have failed to agree over a solution as of yet.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who is rated among the best in the world in his position, has publicly ruled out a transfer to Manchester United last month and insisted that Bayern Munich are unlikely to sell him in this transfer window.
But latest reports from Spain suggest that Toni Kroos is on the verge of completing his move to Real Madrid and could be announced after the World Cup. Carlo Ancelotti is believed to be a big admirer of the German midfielder and sees him as the perfect long-term replacement for Xabi Alonso, whose recent performances, both for club and country has drawn a lot of criticism. Ancelotti also remains unconvinced by the development of Asier Illaramendi and feels the addition of Kroos will help them in wrestling back the league title from Atletico Madrid next season.
Spanish newspaper Marca reports that a deal of €25 million has been agreed between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid over the transfer of Toni Kroos and the German midfielder will sign a five-year contract worth €5 million per year.
According to them Kroos rejected a final offer from Bayern Munich in favour of joining Real Madrid and has also turned down a massive offer from English club Chelsea, who reportedly offered him a bigger contract than Real Madrid, as he wants to move to Spain. His arrival is also likely to fuel the departure of Sami Khedira from the Spanish club, who has been linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal.
