German international Sami Khedira is no more required at Real Madrid and the player is now set for a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea.
Real Madrid has splashed huge cash this summer on players like Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Kaylor Navas and president Florentino Perez wants to sale Angel di Maria and Sami Khedira in order to generate some money for the club.
Reports coming from England have claimed that Premier League duo of Chelsea and Arsenal are the only genuinely interested clubs for Sami Khedira. Daily Express report claims that: “The Germany international has been tipped to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer following the big-money arrivals of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos, and Ancelotti’s snub for the 2-0 win over Sevilla means that Khedira is free to leave before the end of the transfer window. The former Stuttgart star joined Real in 2010, and has made over 90 appearances for the Liga Liga giants.”
Sami Khedira has only one year left to his contract and Real Madrid management is in no mood to offer any extension to the German. Sami Khedira himself is also well aware that he will be getting very limited playing time at Real Madrid and has decided to leave the club now.
Real Madrid already have the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Xabi Alonso and Asier Illaramendi in their ranks and coach Carlo Ancelotti has also given the green signal to the exit of the player. Declining status of Sami Khedira was highlighted on Tuesday when Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti didn’t give any playing time to him in UEFA Super cup game against Sevilla.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is in the market for a quality midfielder as the question mark still remains over the fitness levels of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of Khedira, and is keen for the German to increase his midfield options. Arsenal is ready to offer 15 million euros to Real Madrid for Sami Khedira but Los Blancos want at least 25 million from the sale of the German.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is also interested in working again with Sami Khedira and the club is planning an offer in the region of 17 million euros for the player. Mourinho is a big admirer of the work ethic of Sami Khedira and thinks that the German can make a good midfield partnership with Cesc Fabregas.
Daily Express report claims that Sami Khedira is aware of this interest from both Chelsea and Arsenal and he is more interested in joining the Stamford Bridge club as this will enable him to work with former boss Jose Mourinho again.
