Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the club will not make any more signings in this transfer window.
Real Madrid have signed the likes of Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Kaylor Navas this summer and the Italian boss feels that the squad available to him is extremely competitive and no more enforcements are required.
“It’s done. We’re not looking to make any more signings”, said Ancelotti when asked about new signings. He was speaking to Spanish daily AS.
The likes of Angel Di Maria and Sami Khedira have constantly been linked with other clubs this summer but Ancelotti refused to comment on the current situation of both the players.
“Nothing has changed. They’re Real Madrid players. I chose other players for the European Supercup. Only Kroos played from among those who arrived on 5 August. Today it would be good for them to get some game time and improve their fitness”.
However, despite the comments of Ancelotti, both Di Maria and Khedira are almost certain to leave the club for pastures green as president Florentino Perez looks to recover some money he spent on Rodriguez and Toni Kroos.
Real Madrid have three world class midfielders in Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Xabi Alonso. And when asked about the compatibility of them to play alongside, Ancelotti said that it would not be a problem since all three are extremely talented and have the necessary skill set to play together.
He said: “The three of them can play fine. They have the skill and ability to not have any problems playing together. They’re three midfielders with different characteristics and they don’t have any problem playing together”.
Real Madrid Lose 1-2 To Fiorentina
Poor pre-season form of Real Madrid continued when they lost to Fiorentina by 1-2 yesterday, just three days before the first leg of Supercopa Espana game against Atletico de Madrid. Real Madrid players looked tired and jaded from the start and the loss poses more questions than answers for Carlo Ancelotti,
Cristiano Ronaldo scored the goal for Real Madrid after being picked out by Angel di Maria. However, this goal proved the only high point of the game for Madrid as the Italians scored an equalizer in the 27th minute through Mario Gomez. Ex-Real Madrid player Marcos Alonso scored the winning goal for Fiorentina. This was the third straight defeat of Real Madrid of the pre-season.
