Amidst all the speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid, Chelsea midfielder Ramires has claimed that Los Blancos boss Ancelotti “is a very special coach for me”.
Real Madrid are interested in Chelsea midfielder Ramires and now the midfielder himself has hinted indirectly that he would be interested in a move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Ramires played under current Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti when the Italian was coach of Chelsea in 2011 and claims that he enjoyed working under the Italian.
Ramires is currently in Teresópolis, preparing with the World Cup squad of Brazil. However, the player is expected to sign for Real Madrid after the conclusion of ongoing tournament.
In his interview with Spanish daily Marca, the player gave clear indications that he is interested to play for the world’s richest club. “Ancelotti is a special coach for me, and I really appreciate him. He helped me a lot when I arrived at Chelsea and he was very important in helping me adapt to my position as a central midfielder. He’s a very good coach”, said the player.
Meanwhile, Marca has reported that Real Madrid president is interested in a move for the Brazilian. Marca report claims that: “Florentino Pérez is already convinced about signing the Brazilian, and there’s little doubt that Ramires himself would be happy to play for Carlo Ancelotti again. The problem now lies in negotiations with Chelsea and Mourinho, who are against letting him go.”
Real Madrid already possesses the wealth of talent in the area of central midfield as the likes of Luka Modris, Xabi Alonso, Asier Illaramendi, Casemiro and Sami Khedira; all play in the similar position. Still, Real boss Ancelotti is interested in bringing Ramires to Valdebades.
It is being reported that Ancelotti does not feel that Asier Illaramendi and Casemiro are Real Madrid material. Sami Khedira spent almost whole season on dressing table last year and the coach is not convinced about his fitness yet. Meanwhile, advancing age of Xabi Alonso is another area of concern for the Italian. And considering aforementioned scenarios, Luka Modric is the only trusted candidate of Ancelotti for the longer term and the boss wants to add at least two more midfielders this summer.
Reportedly, Real Madrid management is ready to off load Sami Khedira this summer. The German only played in the Champions League final after the gap of almost seven months and the club staff is not ready to take any more risks with his fitness.
Meanwhile, reports coming out of England has reported today that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Sami Khedira from Real Madrid.
