Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas is becoming increasingly likely to leave the club next summer as Los Blancos are planning a swoop for Manchester United’s David De Gea.

Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has made many serious errors since the World Cup in Brazil and the club is convinced now that a time has come to say good bye to their long serving captain. Iker Casillas was again at fault when Spain lost to Slovakia in the midweek in Euro 2016 qualifier. The place of Casillas has already come under threat as many are calling for the inclusion of De Gea in the starting XI of Spain.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain have also confirmed the interest of Real Madrid in Casillas. Madrid based daily Marca report claims that: “David de Gea is seen by many as the great Spanish promise capable of taking over from the already legendary Iker Casillas, destined to be Spain’s next starting keeper. And maybe Real Madrid’s. The name of the ex-Atlético de Madrid shot-stopper has been on the tables of the Bernabéu offices for some time now, and it is said that De Gea likes the idea.”

David De Gea is a product of Atletico Madrid’s youth academy and he moved to Manchester United in the summer of 2012 where he settled in quickly. De Gea is now the undisputed starter for Manchester United but the management of Real Madrid believes that they could succeed in luring the player back to the Spanish capital in next summer.

The contract of De Gea with Manchester United runs out in June 2016 and the club has offered him an extension as well. But the player has refused to sign the extension so far as it is widely believed that he believes that a move to Real Madrid is on the cards.

Real Madrid sold Diego Lopez to AC Milan this summer and signed Costa Rica international Kaylor Navas for 10 million euros. But Casillas has been the regular starter for Real Madrid regularly this season and his performance levels have come under scanner on regular basis.

Real Madrid fans have shown their anger against Casillas on many occasions in past few days by booing their captain on regular basis. This booing has not gone down well with Casillas and the player himself is considering a move away from the club.
