Real Madrid has made an initial contact with Cruzeiro, the parent club of Brazilian wonder kid Lucas Silva, for the possible transfer of the player in winter transfer window.

Lucas Silva, 21, is one of the hottest properties in world football as he has made his mark in Brazileirao at such a tender age and host of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma and Arsenal are keeping a tab on the progress of the player.

Meanwhile, in the midst of this ongoing battle for the signature of Lucas Silva, Real Madrid have emerged as the favorites for the signature of the youngster as they have already made an initial contact with the management of Cruzeiro. The reports coming from Spain have also confirmed the progress made by Real Madrid in their pursuit of Lucas Silva.

Madrid based daily AS has claimed in its report today that: “Real Madrid are working on the squad for the 2015/16 season. One of the key names being touted to re-enforce the midfield is Lucas Silva, the current Cruzeiro player. Contact has been established with the Brazilian club and the reply from the Brazilian champions is a fee of 15 million euro.”

Lucas Silva is a product of Cruzeiro’s youth academy. The authorities at Cruzeiro were impressed with his skills when he was just 19 and he made his debut for the senior side of the club in 2012. The stock of Lucas Silva has gone up considerably in last two years and he is widely regarded as the future star of Brazil.

Real Madrid are interested in signing a quality midfielder in summer transfer window as the future of Sami Khedira remains uncertain. Luka Modric is the first choice of coach Carlo Ancelotti in the midfield at the moment while the management is reluctant to offer an extension to Sami Khedira.

Lucas Silva is attracting their interest because the authorities at Real Madrid believe that he could be the solution in case any of their regular midfielders get injured while they also believe that the young Brazilian has what it takes to become successful in the longer run at the club.

Cruzeiro, parent club of Lucas Silva, values him at around 15 million euros and Real Madrid will not find it difficult to match their asking price of the player. Another factor going in favour of Lucas Silva’s potential transfer to Real Madrid is that the player has already expressed a preference in playing Spain over any other league.
