Real Madrid are on verge of signing Brazilian wonder kid Lucas Silva as James Rodriguez is out injured and coach Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign the replacement ASAP.
Real Madrid received another set-back on injury front on Saturday as James Rodriguez injured himself in a game against Celta Vigo. Luka Modric is already out for at least next couple of months and this has forced the authorities at Real Madrid to spend in the winter transfer window.
Real Madrid have already made a contact with Lucas Silva and if everything goes according to the plan, the youngster would be a Los Blancos player in the first week of January.
Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain have also confirmed today that Real Madrid are on verge of signing Lucas Silva. Madrid based daily Marca has claimed in its report that Lucas Silva is on the brink of becoming a Real Madrid player. What started out back in September as an option for next season, when Real Madrid found out that Khedira was not going to renew, has now become a priority.
Real Madrid are well stocked in their midfield as they have the likes of Luka Modric, Sami Khedira, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Asier Illaramendi and Isco in their squad. However, out of these players, Modric, Isco and James Rodriguez are out with injury now while, the future of Sami Khedira also remains uncertain.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti had said earlier that he does not want to sign any player in the winter transfer window but this injury crisis has forced him to change his plans.
Real Madrid are tracking Lucas Silva since past few weeks and the club is ready to make an offer worth 15 million euros to get their man. It is being reported that Cruzeiro have accepted the offer of current European Champions and Lucas Silva has already played his last match for the Brazilian club last week.
Cruzeiro teammates of Lucas Silva are already talking about his departure for Real Madrid as a done deal. Mayke, who has shared a dressing room with Lucas Silva for the past four years, said: “Playing for Real Madrid is a dream for everyone. We know he’ll go but he still can’t get his head round it”.
