As league leaders Atletico de Kolkata were held 1-1 by Kerala Blasters, coach Antonio Habas and prolific goalscorer Fikru, eluded the proceedings, banned due to a tunnel scuffle against Robert Pires of FC Goa.
“Well we miss both of them because they are important members of the team. But I think that the players who came in did really well” said Ofentse Nato, Aletico de Kolkata’s Midfield Maestro, while talking to the ISL’s Media Team
“I don’t think it’s about discipline. I think it’s about the aggressiveness of the team and the way we play. Sometimes with that aggression you pick up a lot of bookings because of the desire to win.” commented Nato, when inquired about the rash nature of the game.
Although Atletico were caught by an Iain Hume goal, the league leaders, will be more than happy with this point, as the side lacked handful of the regular starting eleven.
“I’m happy with the result, but I’m not happy that we drew at home because the fans here expect all three points. We knew that it was going to be a difficult game. Kerala played really well so I’m happy with the result. It wasn’t that difficult, because we train together every day. It wasn’t that bad in terms of understanding” Nato added.
With this point, the league leaders further distance themselves from the pack, running away with 11 points in 5 games, still unbeaten.
