Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has laughed off Arsenal’s reported interest in Italian international Lorenzo Insigne.

Lorenzo Insigne has made tremendous progress as a footballer in the last two seasons at Napoli and the Italian international, who is preparing to participate in the World Cup, has drawn a lot of interest from clubs across Europe. Insigne, who is considered to be one of the most talented footballer Italy have produced recently, was a crucial member of the squad under Rafa Benitez last season as they finished third in the Serie A table.

Arsenal have recently been linked with a move for the 23-year-old as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his squad in the summer. The Gunners are expected to spend heavily in this transfer window and a new left sided winger seems to be high on their priority list. Arsene Wenger is believed to be impressed with Insigne’s technical abilities and his versatility to play on either wing. The diminutive winger is also dangerous from free-kicks and has all the attributes to adapt to Arsenal’s style of football.

Insigne’s agent has earlier expressed their delight at being linked with a club like Arsenal, but has accepted that it will be hard for them to snatch the youngster from the clutches of Napoli, considering how important he is to the Italian club. Napoli’s president has now laughed off Arsenal’s interest in him and stated that they won’t entertain any bid under 70 million (Euros) for Insigne.

Arsenal offers 20 million for Insigne? This makes me laugh. I want to make Insigne rise to a value of 60-70 million.” – De Laurentiis said in an interview.

De Laurentiis has also dismissed reports linking them with a potential move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela, but has accepted their interest in his team-mate Sandro.

“Rumours about our interest in him are only agent’s games. I wanted him a year ago but they didn’t allow the deal. Roma offered us (Pablo) Osvaldo instead.

“Now, with (Rafael) Benitez, we don’t need Lamela anymore.

“Sandro? He’s one of our targets, but not the only one.” – He added.
