After a 2-0 win against a lowly Hull City side, Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea maintained their position at the top of Premier League. Chelsea FC opened their goal scoring charts with a Eden Hazard header, powered by a delicious cross by Chelsea FC’s Brazilian Oscar. Hazard did not play against Sporting Lisbon in Chelsea FC’s midweek Champions League triumph and Jose Mouinho believes that a “holiday”, has been key to Hazard’s impressive form, which has re-surged back.
“We made an agreement,” Mourinho explained. “He didn’t play against Sporting, I gave him four days’ holiday.
“He went somewhere with nice weather, where he could take his shirt off and get some sun. He told me he would come back fresh and you could see the happiness in his legs.”
Eden Hazard scored Chelsea FC’s opening goal and surprisingly with his head and not his feet, for which he is famous for. Jose Mourinho agrees to this fact and said, ““When I saw Eden in the box I wasn’t surprised, but I was surprised to see him score with his head. He jumps a lot but normally he closes his eyes, it was a very good goal.”
Chelsea FC dominated play against Hull City but in a game highlighted with cheap tricks, most notably Gary Cahill’s impressive theatric lunge, found themselves scoring only two and found difficult to open a Hull City defense, hell bent on thwarting the Chelsea FC attack.
“We knew we were going to play against a defensive line of three plus two wing-backs,”
“I told my three attacking midfielders we needed to move and change positions, go to other areas because if you stay in a stable position that’s what they want, they want targets to mark, so I told them to try to find space between defenders.
Chelsea FC also return to winning way after defeating Hull City as the Blues lost 2-1 against Newcastle United last time around, putting an end to their undefeated run of 14 Premier League games. Chelsea FC with his win amount to 39 points and still lead the Premier League pack.
Meanwhile, Manchester City continued their impressive form and registered a 1-0 win against Leicester City, courtesy to a Frank Lampard goal in the 40th minute. With both sides grabbing three points, the Premier League could become a two horse race as gap between second place Manchester City and third placed Manchester United could be increased as United take on Liverpool, who would be out for blood, given their knock out from the Champions League.
