FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has said that the duo of Messi and Neymar is working well together and that more is expected from them in the longer run.

FC Barcelona registered a crucial away win against Rayo Vallecano yesterday and Luis Enrique was satisfied with the performance of his team. Both Messi and Neymar scored in FC Barcelona’s victory and coach Luis Enrique said that he expects them to form a lethal partnership which will help the club in years to come.

“The Messi-Neymar connection is something which works in spells; we’ll be seeing a lot more of them. I hope they continue to take their chances, the more the merrier,” Luis Enrique said. He was speaking in a press conference after their victory against Rayo.

Youngster Munir started the game for FC Barcelona but he missed a clear chance to score but Luis Enrique said that such mistakes do happen and it was not a serious error of judgment. “Football is game in which lots of mistakes happen, they happen all of the time. I can’t point the finger at Munir for anything. He didn’t see his team mate and if he had, he would have passed the ball to him.”

FC Barcelona adopted the tactics of playing the ball through the middle and giving horizontal passes in a game against Rayo and Luis Enrique said that it was a well rehearsed move. “We know that Rayo are a very brave side and they force you to make decisions. We were able to make that final, killer pass and get a win which reinforces us as a team.”

Barcelona keeper Claudio Bravo made La Liga record of keeping the clean sheets in consecutive game in yesterday’s game but Luis Enrique said that he is not interested in individual records. “We started tonight’s game strong. We are more interested in how the team performs as one rather than individual records. Rayo are tough opponents and we knew that they wouldn’t let us dominate the ball. My players performed with the intensity we needed for a game like this, I am happier about that than I am about the record.”

FC Barcelona keeper Claudio Bravo was in excellent form yesterday as he distributed the ball extremely well and when asked about the same, Luis Enerique said that he is privileged to have such talented player in his team. “Not just Claudio – Marc and Jordi also need to know how to play the ball out of defence and that isn’t easy against a side who pressures high up the pitch. There is always a risk when playing against those kinds of sides but as I have always said, it’s a privilege for me to have players of such a high level.”
