Juventus have rubbished rumours that Manchester United transfer target Claudio Marchisio and Paul Pogba can leave the club.

JuventusDavid Moyes was recently spotted in the stands during Juventus’ match against Cagliari and it fuelled speculations of Manchester United’s interest in Claudio Marchisio and Paul Pogba. United have struggled in the league this season under their new manager and their lack of depth in midfield has been highlighted once again. The reigning Premier League champions are expected to spend in this transfer window as they look to redeem their season and Juventus duo Claudio Marchisio and Paul Pogba have been linked with the club.

Marchisio, who came on as a substitute against Cagliari and scored the to provide Juventus with the lead, have faced inconsistent form this season. Pogba, Vidal and Pirlo have grabbed a permanent role in Antonio Conte’s midfield and the Italian international has made only 10 starts so far in the league this season. Marchisio’s dip in form has also raised question marks about his future in the Italian national side ahead of the World Cup and reports suggested he could leave Turin in search of regular first team action. But Juventus general director Giuseppe Moratta dismissed these question marks about the midfielder’s future at the club.

“There is no problem with Marchisio. Claudio is a player who grew up in the Juventus youth teams and he loves the shirt.

“During a busy season it is inevitable that every player will have their lows, but everything is normal.” – Giuseppe Moratta said.

Interestingly, Paul Pogba has also being linked with a move back to the English club recently. The Frenchman, who joined United’s academy in 2009, left the club in 2012 after he refused to sign a contract extension. The 20-year-old was seemingly at war with Sir Alex Ferguson as he demanded regular first team action. Pogba has become an integral part of Conte’s squad since joining Juventus and Moratta has suggested that they won’t entertain any offers for the midfielder.

“Pogba? We don’t want to sell him and we close the door to any possible buyers.” – Moratta added.

Reports also suggest that Pogba has qualms about returning to Manchester United with Sir Alex Ferguson still involved at the club. Meanwhile, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has expressed his surprise at the fact that United let him go in the first place.

“Pogba is one of those players who leaves you speechless.

“When he came we didn’t know him but after only three or four training sessions we were impressed by his enormous qualities.

“My team-mates and me looked at each other as to say ‘Are they blind in Manchester?’ (to let him go away).” – Buffon told in a TV Show.
