Manchester United’s target Kevin Strootman expressed a warm gesture to coach Louis van Gaal. Strootman, who has been dubbed as United’s top target said, ““With him looking on, whether it’s during a training session or in a packed stadium, it’s not a matter of me wanting the ball. No, I’ve got to have it. It is mine. It’s like an obligation I have to Van Gaal.”

Similarly the Dutch Gaffer expressed his joy and emotions related with AS Roma’s midfielder.

‘I never usually say anything about individual players. It is my vision that we talk about a team and not individual players.

‘But Strootman I can judge. He is injured for more than six months. We have to wait and see how he comes back. It is not easy to say how he comes back from injury, but we will wait and see.’ van Gaal said.

Ever since van Gaal came to Old Trafford, Kevin Strootman has been linked with Manchester United. United are currently reeling on seventh, with almost every type of worries.

Their midfield department remains the biggest concern, as the midfield has not shown signs of sheer quality – which is expected from a Manchester United lineup.

Meanwhile, Strootman made his comeback from injury for Roma last week and, with over 6 weeks still to go until the window opens, Manchester United may have just about enough time to assess him ahead of a possible January bid.

Strootman is said to be a tough-tackling midfielder, possessing good vision and balance on the ball. He is a physical, tactically strong midfielder. He is best used as a central midfielder, often serving as a box-to-box midfielder or a deep-lying play maker. He is known as the Dutch Roy Keane, drawing comparisons for his uncompromising style of play

United scouts also travelled to Italy earlier this month to watch the Netherlands international make his eagerly awaited return from a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in March.

Strootman, who missed the summer’s World Cup in Brazil because of  injury, ended his nightmare eight month spell on the sidelines when he replaced Seydou Keita in the 84th minute of Roma’s 3-0 win over Torino.

Manchester United are already consedring to buy Strootman for £30m and could launch a bid as early as January, to bolster their side. However, with Roma playing coy United could have to cough up more money than expected.

Although Strootman has been linked to Manchester United for long, a bid stating hefty money could make through this time.
