Manchester United have entered the race to sign Real Madrid outcast Sami Khedira and the club is ready to outbid Arsenal for the signature of the German.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is desperate to sign one defender and one midfielder before the closure of the transfer window and knows that Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira is getable target. Arsenal have been touted as the potential suitors for Sami Khedira but Gunners have not made any offer for the player so far and Manchester United is ready to steal the march from their London based rivals.

Manchester based newspaper Manchester Evening News has also confirmed the interest of United in the German international. Manchester Evening News report claims that: “Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has given United the green light to make a bid for Germany midfielder Sami Khedira. It is understood Van Gaal is prepared to wait until Roma’s Kevin Strootman has returned to full fitness before bolstering his midfield. But Khedira’s availability could prompt a re-think with Michael Carrick ruled out until October with an ankle injury.”

Roma star Kevin Strootman is the first target of United manager Van Gaal but his compatriot is sidelined due to long term injury and the club management is not ready to wait so long and they have asked the Dutchman to go for Sami Khedira instead.

Sami Khedira has only one year left to his contract with Real Madrid and Los Blancos management is not ready to offer the contract extension to him as they are already well stocked in midfield as the likes of Luka Modric, Xabi Alonso and Asier Illaramendi are already there at the disposal of Ancelotti.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid boss Ancelotti has already confirmed that Khedira will leave the club this summer. Ancelotti said earlier this week that: “Khedira’s situation is different than Di Maria’s situation.

“He has just one more year to go on his current contract and he has only recently come back from a serious injury.

“We will see what happens, but he has not requested a transfer.”

Real Madrid want at least 25 million euros from the sale of Sami Khedira and should they decide to go further, Manchester United will not have any problem in agreeing the financial terms with the player.

Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already stressed that he will sign few more players in this transfer window and it is widely expected that he will go for another central defender and holding midfielder. Khedira has been linked with a North London club since the start of this transfer window but nothing has happened yet.
